The Clay Mobile

Clay Mobile

Clay Mobile

Springfield Pottery has partnered with the Springfield Regional Arts Council to develop and create the Springfield Pottery Claymobile program. The Springfield Pottery Claymobile is a mobile ceramic education outreach program dedicated to serving Springfield and neighboring communities through programming suitable for public and private schools and community based organizations.

The Claymobile is a fully stocked van that transports all materials needed for clay workshops – including the teachers! All completed artwork is fired at the studio of Springfield Pottery and returned to the host site.

Benefit of the Claymobile

This outreach arm of Springfield Pottery provides many benefits to area schools and organizations. By participating in this program, students will get an opportunity to work with professional and experienced artists; gain and strengthen knowledge of and skills in the ceramic arts; develop listening and problem solving skills in a positive social environment; build on a sense of independence, pride, and self confidence; and have a lot of fun!

Who the Claymobile Serves

The Claymobile serves the community of Springfield as well as neighboring and surrounding communities. The target audience encompasses children and teens ages 6 and up in public and private elementary, middle, and high school settings as well as community centers, teachers through professional development workshops, summer programs, senior center members, and adults through private groups and corporate team building and retreats.
